Member of the ANC central office Arman Grigoryan thinks that during the PACE plenary session in the end of September there will not be big opportunities to include Armenia’s issue in the agenda. “After the adoption of the resolution 1677 Armenia was taken out of the special monitoring regime and returned under the normal regime of monitoring. At that time the PACE came up with a statement that there had been certain improvements, specifically in terms of releasing a part of the political prisoners and editing the text of the articles 225 and 300. Even the dissolved fact-finding group has done some work. Based on these facts I assume that Armenia’s issue will not be discussed,” said the ANC representative to the PACE Arman Grigoryan. “However the government can’t feel good and free because if the monitoring commission comes to the conclusion that it is not sufficed with the improvement or the demands of the resolutions have not been met, it won’t keep the PACE from including the issue in the plenary session agenda,” he said.
