One more trap

Even though it is not hard to understand how the report to be published by the ad hoc in charge of investigating the events of March 1-2 will look like, after yesterday’s meeting of the ad hoc everything became clearer. During yesterday’s session the ad hoc published the main points of the report to be published by the ad hoc headed by Samvel Nikoyan. The ad hoc has made a lot of references to the conclusion of the presidential elections process published by European monitors, as well as certain resolutions of the PACE and the ombudsman’s extraordinary report. It means that on the one hand the commission tried to please the European institutions, on the other hand it tries to put all the blame of March 1 (the logic is that if they had not expressed their opinion, the events of March 1 would not have taken place). Plus, it tried to demonstrate that they are impartial by referring to some parts of the ombudsman’s report. However, the most surprising part of Samvel Nikoyan’s report will be the part which focuses on social and economic situation in Armenia, the logic of which is that the events of March 1 were a result of economic and social polarization in the country. Certainly after publishing such report Nikoyan may be granted with a state medal, as well as with social and economic attributes together with that medal. However after the report neither the society nor people will forget about everything they knew before the report is published. In other words, it would be better if Samvel Nikoyan and his commission spent their efforts and potential to make casting and scenarios of soap operas. It would be more realistic than the report to be published in several days. Even though the financial efficiency of the second option may not be so big.
