You can cry as much as you want: no one will help you

The government has presented the law draft about “Privatization of state property in 2005-2007” to the National Assembly. State-owned companies with their buildings in different communities of Yerevan and in regions were included in the privatization list. They also suggested privatizing the “Health care and physical treatment scientific institution”, which is located on Orbeli street. According to our sources, the government has asked the NA to include this issue in the agenda of the upcoming meetings as soon as possible and since it has to be discussed by the relevant commission before putting it in the agenda, the commission is going to discuss it on Friday.

There is an important thing here: according to the law the government has distributed these state-owned institutions among the relevant ministries based on their profiles. It is strange but the “Health care and physical treatment scientific institution” is not under the health care ministry cover, it is managed by the state property management department at the RA government. One of the members of the NA noted that this had been done purposely, because in this case most of the MPs would not pay attention to it. “The government has figured out how to cheat the MPs. They include these institutions in different lists, so we don’t pay attention to them and don’t understand what’s going on. Later these issues are adopted and no one can complain later. And after the adoption you can cry as much as you want: no one will help you”,- said one of the experts of the National Assembly.

For your information: this institution is the only scientific health care institution, which coordinates health care and other relevant issues. Meanwhile the institution carries out other activities, makes inventions and applies new treatment methods.

We also found out who was going to privatize the institution. According to our sources, the consumer is the existing director of that institution, Benik Harutyunyan. According to the same sources, the arrangements are already made and now they wait for the answer from the NA. By the way the government has presented two lists concurrently. One of them included the organizations intention for privatization and the other list- organizations which had been taken out of the privatization list (for example: “Atomenergyseismpro” CJSC, Yerevan Youth Chamber theatre building, several polyclinics in the country, etc.). The list, which includes the organizations and buildings intended for privatization, is much bigger than the other one. It includes buildings and organizations which are mainly in the center of Yerevan: “Veber” CJSC, “Garni Ler” OJSC, “Information Marketing Center”, “New Investments”, “Jrshin”, etc. .
