Instead of the 20 billion drams provided for the teachers’ salaries, 23 billion drams will be provided to the teachers in the year of 2006. According to the Minister of Education and Sciences Sergo Yeritsyan, “Today, there are 46,000 teachers in Armenia, however, optimization will continue due to the fact that there are less students studying in the 1st grade this year.” Sergo Yeritsyan guarantees that there will be computers in all schools in the upcoming two years. In 2006, 300 schools will be provided with computers and 80 of them will have access to the Internet.
