Recently the National Statistics Service published information, which should have been like cold bath for the society. The economic slump of the first half of the year reached 16,3%. However there was no reaction on part of the society because they don’t give a damn about the official information and they have their own independent opinion. Unlike this pessimistic information prime-minister Tigran Sargsyan has spoken a brilliant idea and said that during the same period the shady sector of the economy was cut by 16% and is taxed now. It is a surprising coincidence that this is the same percentage as the economic slump was. Either it means that all companies in the shade have met bankruptcy during the past six months (even though it is hard to find any businesses under the umbrella of government officials which have met bankruptcy) or the purpose of Tigran Sargsyan’s announcement was different. The second version is more possible and it is easy to guess why he said that. They want to forget about the crisis. Since the regime set foot in power the prime-minister and others were speaking of the crisis in an optimistic context. The reason why after keeping silence they became interested in the crisis again is that they can use this opportunity to get suspicious borrowings from international organizations. As for international organizations, usually they provide borrowings not because of their interest in economies but politics particularly. Now it is a good opportunity because on the one hand the crisis is very active and on the other hand the issue of Karabakh conflict settlement is active as well. The more they speak the more money they will get. In a word, Tigran Sargsyan’s announcement was targeted at international donor organizations because they specifically like the line about fighting against economic shadow. It also comes to prove the fact why the prime-minister did not specify which fields had been targeted by them and in which sectors of the economy they cut the shade. In reality neither the officials of international organizations nor our society care about cutting down the shadow in the economy. Everywhere the most important thing is the mutual interests. First of all, the shady interests.
