While the Armenian government praises the statement (thus the basic principles as well) of the presidents of the US, Russia and France regarding the resolution of the NKR conflict and the political forces give similar assessment to that statement, yesterday an inter-governmental agreement was signed in Ankara regarding the construction of Nabucco gas pipeline. The document was signed for 4 member states of the EU and Turkey but the representatives of Azerbaijan and Georgia were also present. This means everyone was there besides Armenians. The launch of the construction of the gas pipeline, which is worth approximately 8 billion Euros, was basically signed by the approval of the US and the EU, who at least consider the conflicts of the regions theoretically resolved. In this background the statements of the government of Armenia, “therefore, thus, then…” seem mildly said surprising. The events of the last week showed that the US has taken the initiative of the resolving the “last accord” of the resolution of the conflict.
