Today is the birthday of one of the brightest and unique painters of Armenia, Edward Kharazyan. The maestro celebrates his 70th anniversary quite silently by trying to avoid any noise related to his name. The painter, who was born in Tbilisi, moved to Armenia at early age and enriched the painting palette of the 60s of Armenia. Kharazyan is one of the fewest painters, whose name is known not only in Armenia but in Europe and America. The national and contemporary traits of painting are so organically and tenderly depicted in his art that an impression is created that the real world expands in its boundaries and stretches to a new tale. Kharazyan is a painter-philosopher, for who the reality and invented episodes are only signs and codes directed to the nature and human essence. The window, stage, curtain, shadow, objects and people are details, by the help of which Kharazyan tries to build the modern Armenian manuscript, which is meanwhile surprisingly national and human.
