According to the Foreign Policy magazine, the OSCE MG American co-chair Matthew Bryza may be appointed the US Ambassador in Azerbaijan. According to the mentioned magazine, the former direct boss of Bryza, the deputy state secretary Daniel Frid has recommended him for this position. However, neither Frid nor Bryza have commented on this news. The White House has not published any official information concerning Matthew Bryza’s candidacy for the Ambassador’s position. Yesterday the Azeri foreign affairs ministry spokesman Elkhan Polikhov said, “We have not received any messages concerning it. This issue should be first of all decided by the American government, and only after that they may apply to us.”
