Recently the Central bank of Armenia came up with forecast stating that the economy would fall by 5.8%. However, during yesterday’s forum organized by the Policy Forum Armenia the CB vice president Vache Gabriyelyan said that he did not exclude the possibility that the slump would be higher. “During the year the economy may fall by 7-8%,” he said and assured that higher recession was impossible because starting from the second quarter the government would direct a lot of resources to development of the economy and business sector. By the way, ex-president of the Central Bank Bagrat Asatrayn was participating in the forum as well and according to him, the GDP will cut down minimum by 11%.
