Future discovering prevented

02/06/2009

The fact-finding group of the events of March 1, after being forced to inactivity by the authorities, has been faced with a problem of dissolving. Vahe Stepanyan, the head of the fact-finding group and the head of the human rights defender’s office, has told the radio Liberty that he was going to quit his work with the fact-finding group. He said that the reason of his resignation was the “tense environment in the group”. By the way, by coincidence the same reason was brought by the president’s representative in the fact-finding group Robert Avagyan, who said that everything started after he refused to sign the document developed by the fact-finding group concerning the death of police officer Hamlet Tadevosyan. In fact this looks like a confession and Avagyan discovered the plan of the government to manipulate the work of the fact-finding group. In fact everything is simple: the fact-finding group has found out that the special investigation service and the state institutions have hidden the real circumstances of Tadveosyan’s death, according to which he was not killed by the explosives thrown by demonstrators but by an explosive which he had in his hands. In fact the future activity of the fact-finding group may reveal the real circumstances of the deaths of all victims of March 1 and discover the real organizers and culprits of that crime. In other words, the work of the group was in deadlock and the authorities had to quit the work of the fact-finding group, which they did through the resignation of Vahe Stepanyan.
