The process of Euro-integration is not accepted by the Armenian society in the full extent. For most part of the society and political parties the processes such as Euro-integration, European policy and united Europe are mostly mere expressions but not a process, which involves the state in the process and promises good prospective for Armenia. Even more, many politicians, who officially are considered as supporters of the European system of values, from time to time dare to say that the Islamic world can serve an alternative for Europe on the path of Armenia’s development. The reasons of such announcements are not only political. Another big part of the society does not accept Europe and Euro-integration as a path of development which does not have an alternative. This fact mostly depends on the activities of the mentioned politicians and political powers to represent the European values and Armenia’s place in this system of values, the existing environment, as well as the positive and negative colors how they represent the processes. In civic and political discussions concerning this topic the declarative announcements are prevailing. The critics and positive opinions concerning the process of Euro-integration are limited with beautiful words on the one hand, and emphasize of values contradicting the Armenian mentality on the other hand.

In the recent times some processes have started in the relations with Europe, which eventually will bring to a new quality level of mutual relations with Europe. On May 7 the summit of the countries of the EU Eastern Partnership project will take place in Prague. Generally both the Armenian society and political powers are indifferent to this upcoming event and the possible consequences. Everyone is focused on the upcoming mayoral and city council elections in Yerevan, the model of which has been taken from Europe too.
