In commemoration of Ruben Mangasaryan

26/03/2009

Photo journalist Ruben Mangasaryan got heart attack and passed away on March 21. He was 48 years old and had a great passion and enthusiasm to create. Our nation lost a bright mind. Ruben Mangasaryan was not only a photo journalist who had worked in extremely difficult conditions and been granted with international prizes, but was one of the rare persons who could access the international media and open a new gate for younger photo journalists. In 2007 the colored version of National Geographic Traveler journal was published due to Ruben’s efforts. He could spread the colored photos of Armenia’s nature in the world and make the Armenian beauty available in the world. He participated and initiated many group and private exhibitions.

By founding the Patker photo agency he did a great job by bringing together people and making good photo reporters from them. Many of his students work for international media companies. Ruben loved his job. He was attentive to any details. Even when talking to people he was slightly smiling like he could see and capture everything in the souls of people with his inner professional “photo camera”. Such people are hardworking and live every minute of their lives. One needs to be talented to live like him. Ruben Mangasaryan was very talented and handsome. The photojournalist will need people like him for a long time because there are things behind the curtains that can be discovered only by the looks and captured pictures of talented people. Some of his pictures are shown herein.
