Against Bryza

“The negotiations of Karabakh conflict are currently proceeding over the principles of settlement, concerning which there is no agreement at present, and it is soon to speak of the agreement,” said the Armenian foreign ministry’s spokesperson Tigran Balayan concerning Matthew Bryza’s announcement stating that the parties of the conflict are close to the settlement and agreement, which is based on the principle of territorial integrity and envisages provisions concerning self-determination and non-application of power. “It’s not quite understandable what the purpose of that announcement is but the impression is that such interpretation could be made only for the purpose of hindering the negotiations, which is based on the principles of Madrid. The mentioned recommendations are based on the international law and are equal principles, which concern non-application of power, self-determination right and territorial integrity. The Armenian party has numerously announced that the core issue of the conflict is the recognition and enforcement of the self-determination right of the Karabakhi people,” he said. By the way, in his interview given to the APA news agency Matthew Bryza spoke about the rumors saying that he is going to leave his position and specifically said that state secretary Hillary Clinton would solve that issue whenever she thinks it appropriate. “I know that I will get another job but I don’t know what the job will be like and when it will happen,” said Matthew Bryza, who has been the US co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group for the past four years. “It is considered to be a long term for such job, an extraordinary long term. It is not a common model for the US, but I like my job,” Bryza said.
