Government fails to punish murderers

17/02/2009

Minimum three citizens out of the ten citizens killed during the events of March 1 were killed by 4 police officers as they used special means, namely Cheryomukha 7 guns. Optimists used to hope that as a result of official announcements of this fact the government would at least punish the policemen demonstratively. However the four criminal policemen not only have not been sentenced to punishment but they still work for the police. Such announcement was made by Vahagn Harutyunyan, the head of the investigators’ group in charge of the March 1 repressions. Recently he published the conclusions of the professional expertise made by Russian experts, according to which the bullets extracted from the bodies of the March 1 victims cannot be identified with the guns, which were used to shoot. In fact, they know that certain policemen shot to death citizens but as they don’t know exactly which guns were used to kill certain people the mentioned policemen are in freedom now and still work with the police.
