Yesterday Goran Lennmarker, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s representative on the South Caucasus conflicts, arrived in Yerevan on the first leg of his regional tour. Last week he has spoken of a “good possibility” of resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict this year ahead of his upcoming fact-finding visit to the South Caucasus. When commenting on his statement Lennmarker said, “I think it is the right time now for the resolution.” “After military actions everyone realizes that it is through peace that conflicts must be resolved. This is the main reason of being optimistic,” he told the RFL reporter. Yesterday Lennmarker met with NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, foreign affairs minister Edward Nalbandyan, head of the NA standing committee on foreign relations Armen Rustamyan. Besides the government representatives he also had meetings with the head of the Heritage opposition faction Armen Martirosyan as well as ANC representatives Armenian National Congress Davit Shahnazaryan, Arman Musinyan and Vladimir Karapetyan. Today Lennmarker will be meeting RA President Serzh Sargsyan.
