Plague in Erebuni community

01/02/2009

168 Hours received a call from citizens of Erebuni community address 127/1, who said that there was an emergency situation in their community on January 26. The drinking water pipe exploded under the building and the drinking water mixed with the waste water. A young man aged 33 tried to save the situation and closed the central pipe but unfortunately he fell into the waste water marsh and was up to death. Fortunately people could save his life, but as of yesterday most of the citizens of the building, mostly children, had high temperature and were sick. The citizens say that this sickness is resulted from the waste water, thus it is not excluded that there may be plague in the community. They have called the State Sanitary Station but no one comes and no one cares about them.
