NA speaker Hovik Abrahamyan has submitted a petition to the heads of all parliaments of European countries and asked all of them not to vote for depriving Armenia of the voting right during the upcoming PACE session. “I would like to draw your attention at the fact that this project is very dangerous, and if it is adopted, the inner stability of Armenia will be significantly endangered, and by interfering in the court proceedings it will affect the complexity of the state structure, which is based on balanced branches of the power. It is also worth mentioning that the suggested punishment is exaggerated, disproportional and does not comply with the Assembly’s former policies. It will be a pattern of double standards and will be against our joint efforts for cooperation and dialogue within the PACE… I truly trust your consideration and hope that our concerns and suggested changes to the project will be endorsed by you,” writes the letter.
