Azerbaijani foreign affairs spokesperson Khazar Ibrahim has announced that Azerbaijan would be happy if Armenia accelerated the efforts to help the process of Karabakh conflict settlement. “We can only welcome such efforts and continue the negotiations on our part,” he said. “Nagorno Karabakh, as well as the other regions of Azerbaijan, should be included in Azerbaijan as the international law requires defining the status within the framework of the principles of territorial integrity. Karabakh’s status within the territory of Azerbaijan can be defined only after the representatives of the Azeri community of Karabakh return there,” he said and added that the conflict should be settled through phases. “As Azerbaijan has announced for many times, in the first phase the Armenian troops should be dislocated from the occupied lands, and refugees should return to their places,” announced Ibrahim. By the way, the latter said that the official Baku welcomes the declaration signed by the presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia in Moscow. “It is a very important document which expresses the main provisions of the negotiations, which have been discussed during the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations so far.” “The declaration includes all the main provisions which have been subject to negotiation so far; the document includes principles and phases,” he said and added that the mentioned document shows that the conflict of Karabakh may be resolved through polite methods.
