The budget of 2009 provides 1, 200,000 AMD for the purpose of buying kettles for the Central Bank. When a parliamentary deputy said that he was surprised to learn this during the discussions at the parliament the Central Bank president Artur Javadyan said that all expenses were substantiated. He also said that the Central bank was going to build a hotel in Syunik. It is also worth mentioning that several years ago the CB built a building in Tsakhkadzor, which was later made a depositary. Of course now this building serves as a hotel for the CB and other officials dealing with the Central Bank. By the way, there are other “substantiated” expenses under the CB line, for example the CB is asking for 5 million dram for buying toilette paper, 10 million for buying soap. “The budget proceedings are substantiated and if it is necessary those will be proven,” said CB spokesperson Zaruhi Barseghyan to our newspaper. Hopefully the CB will substantiate the expenses in the future and will let us know what they need 50.000 pieces of toilette paper or 50.000 pieces of soap for. It is not excluded that after selling the gold reserves of our country the Central bank wants to reserve some toilette paper and soap.
