Yesterday the Ombudsman of Armenia made a statement, in which he asks the public committee on the events of March 1 also include in their examination the preliminary report and the video presented by the opposition. On September 10 the public committee to investigate into the events of March 1 and 2 presented a preliminary report and a documentary film lasting for half an hour on those events. The film has been presented to the human rights defender as well. The content of the film and the footages and scenes in it cause serious worries, and in this connection the Defender urges the National Assembly ad hoc committee to investigate into the March 1 and 2 events to study the events presented in the film for a complete, comprehensive and objective investigation, and if necessity arises, to study the footages to find out if they are real or montage. “It is urgent to investigate the cruel and disproportionate actions of the security agencies to reveal and bring before justice the people who ordered illegal actions and implemented them,” runs the release of the office of the human rights defender.
