The RA Prime Minister doesn’t worry about the intention of Artashes
Tumanian to found a political party. Even more, he thinks that the
citizens should use their rights provided by the Constitution and found
both NGOs and political parties to participate in making decisions.
“From this point of view I think this is democratic”,-said A.Margaryan.
And from the point of view of political competition, A.Margaryan thinks
that all the political parties that can place serious roles in the
upcoming elections are competitors for them. “Each political party is a
competitor, especially in the parliamentary elections, and it is the
same for the “Republican Party” (RP) whether there are 15, 25 or 45
parties participating in the elections. Our goal is to solve our
problems, but not to artificially cut the number of the parties down,
which are going to participate in the elections”,- said Mr. Margaryan.
As for the potential of RP, A.Margaryan assured that they would do
their best to “at least to keep the places they had”. In response to
the question of whether “RP had a candidate for the president’s
position”, A.Margaryan said: “Only after 2007”.
