After taking interview from the president of Armenia Serzh Sargsian the Turkish newspaper radical interviewed the Turkish president Abdullah Gul. In answer to a question whether the Turkish president thinks that the opportunity of watching the football play between the Armenian and Turkish national teams is an opportunity for developing relations between Armenia and Turkey, and whether the Turkish president is going to visit Armenia, Gul said the following: “It is a very important interview. I see it as an example of solving problems at all levels and support for overcoming misunderstandings. I can say that the process of estimating Mr. Sargsian’s invitation and discussions of all its components is still going on.” Answering to a question whether there has been any progress in developing relations and opening the borders with Armenia Gul said, “I sincerely support the recent efforts to develop peace in the region. I think that it is very important to appreciate every effort for that purpose. Our goal and purpose is to solve and settle all problems with our neighbors through peaceful ways and dialogue. Turkey is a country that can solve problems in the region. We attach big importance to peace in the region.” In answer to another question what are the obstacles Gul said that the obstacles are all the problems of frozen conflicts in the region, the biggest of which is the conflict of Karabakh, which should be settled through dialogue and bravely. “I believe that it will bring peace and wealth to the people of the region. The region belongs to each of us and all we are the children of these lands. Turkey wants that all the countries of the region participate in the regional projects. I believe that the people of the region, who are close to each other with their traditions and culture, but with different ethnic background and religions, in case of having an adequate environment, despite all negative assumptions, will hold the path to stability and wealth,” he said.
