Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan will make a working visit to the southern Russian City of Sochi on September 2. The presidential press office told that in Sochi Sargsyan will have a meeting with Russian president Dmitry Medvedev. It said they will discuss Armenian-Russian strategic partnership, issues pertaining to Armenia’s rotating chairmanship in the CSTO and also regional and international issues. It is evident that after this meeting the attitude of Armenia regarding the Georgian-Ossetian conflict will be clarified. Moreover, judging from the current political situation it is not excluded that two days after that meeting the Turkish President Abdullah Gul will visit Armenia to watch the soccer match. And while the ARF is expressing its intention to protest the Turkish President’s visit the Armenian National Congress had expressed its intention to delay its rally of September 5 and starting from August 31 temporality pause its strike in the Northern Avenue. This decision of the Congress is stipulated by the situation in the region, the soccer match between Turkey and Armenia to take place on September 6, visit of Turkish tourists and the effort of avoiding any provocation during that period.
