On June 21 president of Armenia ratified the law on the structure of the Armenian government adopted by the National Assembly. The law will enter into force as of July 1. According to this law, the structure of the government is to be changed and a new ministry will be formed within the government in charge of Diaspora-related issues. The ministry of Diaspora affairs will be included in the governmental structure as of October 1, 2008. To note, rumors say that the head of the standing commission on education and science affairs Hranoush Hakobyan will be appointed minister of Diaspora affairs.
