Evident regret

Today is the day of the Yerkrapahs, on the occasion of which we will hear lofty words about Karabakh war veterans on TV (except for the ones, who are in jail now). Yesterday the President of the Yerkrapahs Manvel Grigoryan released a similar congratulatory statement for the veterans. In fact his statement sounds like a regret letter about the events of March 1. “I want to say for the last time that I am the kind of a person who does not give anybody the right to speak and act on his behalf,” he said. “I myself am able to speak and act for myself.” In his message, Grigoryan stressed that unlike the Test of Spirit, Yerkrapah did not officially endorse Ter-Petrosyan or any other presidential candidate. “After elections as there was inner-political tension in the society the Yerkrapahs decided to gather (by the way the same happened in the 90s) in order to be alert as we were cautious to make sure that no enemy benefits from the situation to harm our nation. The President of the country found it inexpedient for us to gather and asked us to disperse and we went home,” confessed Manvel Grigoryan. In his statement the latter didn’t say a word about his counterparts Sasoun Michaelyan, Hakob Hakobyan, Myasnik Malkhasyan and dozen of Yerkrapahs, who are currently in prison.
