Yesterday the leader of the Republican Party Serzh Sargsyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Legal State Party Artur Baghdasaryan and the representative of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Supreme Body Armen Rustamyan signed an agreement on political coalition at the government of Armenia. This is the first time the principles of the activities and the keynote priorities of the political coalition, the obligations, the procedure and the time limits of organizing the activity of its member parties is defined in a concrete and clear-cut manner. The existing document differs from the previous coalition agreements in that it does not define the concrete spheres of the legislative and executive powers in which separate parties belonging to the coalition may propose staff members. Let us remember that after the 2007 Parliamentary elections the ARF stated that it will be responsible for only its functions conducted in the framework of the coalition. This time the coalition means that all the parties involved in the coalition will bear a joint and individual responsibility for the ruling authority and first of all, for the activity of the Government. Yesterday the chairman of the ARF Parliamentary faction Hrair Karapetyan stated at the NA that if the principles proposed by the coalition agreement come true Armenia will become a wonderful country. In case if the principles don’t come true the ARF will not only criticize the government but also deflect from the coalition.
