Only armenian citizens have the right to receive treatment at
“Armenicum” clinical center, which was founded in 1999 in the
South-West district of Yerevan. According to the director of this
center, Levon Gevorgyan, the center doesn’t accept foreign patients,
because they want to register “Armenicum” in different countries in
order for the government to provide treatment in other countries too.
make this treatment by government work in other countries too.
The patients with AIDS take three injections per week. The course of
treatment takes four weeks. There are one or two-place beds (in total
52 beds), air-conditioners, refrigerators, and TV sets in all the rooms
of “Armenicum” clinics. The patients can play table tennis, listen to
music and use the telephone.
We tried to find out how many patients there were at the centre, or
whether there were pregnant women or foreigners there, but the director
refused to answer, saying, that this kind of information was
confidential.
L. Gevorgyan informed us, that “Armenicum” medicine had already been registered in Liberia, India and Congo.
