NKR Minister of Foreign Affairs Georgy Petrossian in an interview with the Azat Artsakh newspaper, commenting on the resolution on Nagorno Karabakh adopted by the UN General Assembly said: “As a result of discussions in the UN, Azerbaijan has actually sustained another defeat although it tries to present it to its public as a moral victory. I think that an extraordinary event took place – despite of the fact that the OSCE MG had warned that one-sided document could not be submitted to the UN, Azerbaijan did it. 39 countries voted in favor of the draft, about 150 countries (including the main countries of European Union) either voted against or abstained. The OSCE MG Co-Chair countries also voted against it. I think Azerbaijan received a distinct signal that the methods of one-sided pressure do not work.” The Minister noted that Azerbaijan proved once more that it is against the peace settlement and is for the use of force to resolve the problem.
