The parliament has adopted the bill on making amendments to the law “on providing security of the persons subject to special state security” by first reading. To note, the purpose of those changes is to regulate the legal provisions of the procedures of providing the security of former presidents in case they are doing illegal actions. According to the draft law, the head of the state security group shall urgently inform the upper instance about it, inform the person whom they are protecting about the necessity to stop the protection. In addition, according to another provision the person who is subject to protection can refuse the protection services provided by the state by submitting a written refusal letter.
