Kocharyan-Aliev Meeting Takes 2 Hours

President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met
today in Astonia, the capital of Kazakhstan. According to “Armen Press”, the two presidents
discussed the Karabagh peace settlement for nearly two hours-first with the
representatives of Minsk’s European Security and Cooperation Organization (ESCO)
as well as without them.. Afterwards, president of the Russian Federation
Vladimir Putin also took part in the negotiations. Vladimir Putin showed his
optimistic view towards the meeting between the two presidents, stating that
despite any decisions made, the meeting is a sign of progress. Kocharyan and
Aliev agree with that. Aliev emphasized the key role that Russia plays in the Karabagh peace settlement and
thanked Putin for being there.
