Addressing to 168-Zham newspaper publications

13/02/2008

Since September of 2004, since the establishment of 168-Zham newspaper we have been writing about socially vulnerable families and their issues in our newspaper.

Many families and single mothers and seniors presently live in socially difficult conditions. Some appeared in such a state because of their own fault, some because of the incorrect social policy of the state, some because of the unfairness and indifference of officials. Others are in the mentioned state because they are unemployed. Often they appear in such destitute states that are not able to receive medical care. In all our publications citizens, high-rank officials, state structures, medical centers, charity organizations, businessmen and owners of businesses have always responded. Armenians living in various foreign states have also responded to our publications. And every time we find out that any of the vulnerable families receives any kind of help we feel very happy to be helpful. This means that not everything is lost yet. We are glad that the publications of our newspapers can change the lives of vulnerable families, children, seniors, etc. And we have hundreds of such example. And so in one of the previous editions of 168-Zham newspaper an article was published entitled, “Please help, do something, I cannot do this anymore.” Both state structures and citizens have reacted on it. In the article we have described the extremely poor social state of a lonely pensioner Roza Khachatryan, who lives in the hostel of Vardashen. The RA government reacted to this publication in the face of the RA Healthcare Ministry. As a result Roza was immediately moved to Erebuni medical center. She was expressing her gratitude to RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan and his staff for responding to the article as well as the medical personnel of the hospital for a good healthcare. After the publication of the article representatives of the Star supermarket network visited Roza with boxes of food. Some other citizens, who didn’t wish to mention their names, showed monetary support to Roza. In another article published in 168-Zham newspaper, entitled “Lonely woman asking for help” a woman named Gayane Adibekyan wasn’t able to change her name in the electrical network. This publication also created major reaction and many people and state bodies helped Gayane. Gayane asked us to send her gratitude to the RA Minister of Energy Armen Movsisyan, who has personally considered Gayane’s issue and immediately entrusted his staff to solve it.
