The Armenian presidential candidate Vazgen Manukyan held the first public discussion of his election program with young people and answered all the questions which worry young people. “Our program is based on human freedoms. We believe that only a free person can build a prosperous and dignified state, and the idea of youth has a greater meaning for young people than for adults,” Vazgen Manukyan says. “We all are dissatisfied with the situation in which we are living. And in order to overcome this dissatisfaction we need to figure out the cause of which we must rid. We do not want to speak about the objective cause, we are mostly dissatisfied with the president of the country. A person kills and gets away with it, another person is fired and cannot complain to anyone, there is a group of people who can do everything, and others cannot do anything.” What should be done? In answer to this question Manukyan says: “To elect president who together with his team has never been part of this group, and is free from influence. A president who is honest, determined, experienced.” What are the problems which the new president should solve? “We must realize that within this system the new president and the members of his team may suddenly feel they are saviors and demolish everything, including what should not be demolished. And there is another problem: people might be tempted to mount to the top of the pyramid. Hence, the situation in Armenia will be reproduced. Therefore, people, the president and his team which comes to power, besides being honest determined and experienced, must be able to make new laws, a new Constitution, a Constitution by which the government will be unable to change the situation even if it has influence, even if the president or the next president and the next National Assembly wish to.”
