A group of Armenian pop stars have announced their support to prime minister Serzh Sargsyan’s presidential bid, saying they will tour around the country this and next month to petition voters to cast their ballots for the prime minister. “It is not an imposed decision. We listened to our hearts. The Republican Party is our friend and it has always been by our side helping many singers organize their concerts. Serzh Sarkisian is well aware of our pains and our victories,” Shushan Petrosian said. “The candidate whom I would like to see as president of our country is resolute, courageous and intelligent,” Nune Yesayan said. Singer Hayko said the country’s president must be a military commander, so that ‘when we are by his side we feel strong, positive and citizens of a good country.” “I wish to see my country in a way that would make us and our coming generations be proud of it.
