October 27 is the issue of the state

RA First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan has a serious opportunity to win the upcoming presidential race. Moreover, if he works well enough during the campaign he may win it in the first round.

Yesterday in Pastark Club such an opinion was made by the leader of the People’s Party of Armenia Stepan Demirchyan. “I am confident that the struggle will be tense between two presidential candidates, Serzh Sargsyan and Levon Ter-Petrosyan. The authorities are seriously concerned over this,” Stepan Demirchyan says. “Levon Ter-Petrosyan enjoys a high rating. His rating will still increase provided the first President is given airtime.” To the question what position he is planning to occupy in the event of Ter-Petrosyan’s victory he mentioned that the primary shouldn’t be confused with the secondary. “The important thing is to win. Everything else will be fine.” Demirchyan has also spoken about the presidential platform of the first President, by saying that is coincides with their approaches. Demirchyan highlights NKR’s involvement in the negotiations. Armenia should not decide for the Nagorno Karabakh Republic. When one of the present reporters said that the government also says so Demirhcyan said it wasn’t like that in past. And as an evidence of the statement he reminded how President was trying to convince him of the opposite in their 2003 debate. When speaking of elections he mentioned, “It would be naïve to think that the government, which had falsified elections, constitutional referendum will guarantee free and fair elections this time.” Meanwhile he mentioned that this time it will be impossible to appoint someone a president with violations. According to him after government change there will be no “ghost hunt”, but every culprit must be punished. “When we are saying that the case of October 27 must be revealed they blame us of being revengeful. What kind of morality is this? Crimes must be investigated and revealed. The culprits must be punished. This is the issue of the state and not relatives or friends.”
