Violations in water outflow of mines

In the period of January-October the officers of environmental protection control (EPCD) department of the RA Environmental protection ministry conducted inspection on compliance with the requirements of the environmental protection law (with the help of the central and regional laboratories) in a number of mines and have found violations in water flows coming out of some mine areas.
 
The EPCD office has informed “Armenpress” that as a result of research they have found that there have been violations of the chemical norms in the water outflows (the capacity of those materials exceeded the allowed capacity by 6-12 times) of “Akhtala LHK” CJSC basins, in the Hrazdan river area adjacent to Hakhtanak bridge, “Yerevan HES”, “Lastanav” LLC. Such violations have been found also in the drainage waters of “Avshar Wine Factory”, “Nor Kyuri” farm of Mschyan village community, and at “Vorontsov and sons”, “Jermuk Group”, “Avetyan and friends”, “Artashes Gnishetski”, “Arpa-1” companies.

According to them, such exceeding capacities of chemical materials have also been found in the production water flows of the central cleaning plant of Yerevan flowing into Hrazdan river, and in different parts of Voghj, Arax, Vorotan rivers and in the basin of the copper-molybdenum factory. Besides that, the official bodies have drawn up 115 penalty statements amounting at 10,8 million dram and 9 statements for damage compensation amounting at 20,2 million dram.

According to Armenpress, the inspection works are up to termination at “Bjni mineral water company”, “Dilijan”, “Frolova Balka” and “Lori” mineral water companies. Pursuant to the corresponding order issued by the government, the mentioned companies have to install water meters in the drill holes of their production plants. During the mentioned period the ecological mobile laboratory of the ministry has been renovated and improved too.
