Circus issue to be solved in December

The Armenian circus has huge financial debts to the state and it is strange that it does not take any steps to cover its debts, thus definitely the best solution may be found in courts. The inspection group shall check up the activities of the circus and make corresponding statements to charge penalties from the personnel of the circus since the circus is owned by its personnel.

The commission in charge of inspecting the performance of the tax and investment obligations of the circus has not finished its work yet. The inspection had to be finished, however the commission has concluded that more documents should be viewed. “The documents concerning investments and warranties were not supported duly and we are waiting for supplementary supporting documents. The inspection is in process now,” said the head of the contractual relations agency in charge of working with privatized companies, Ludwig Grigoryan. This agency has not imposed sanctions yet since the term of investment on the part of the circus has not finished yet. The inspection will end in the middle of December and only after its termination they will inform about the potential sanctions. According to the charter, after such inspection the issue shall be treated by courts and be subject to a court resolution.

The existing situation in the circus does not inspire any hope since the personnel, which has privatized the circus, does not have 300 million dram to invest under its obligations. It was clear at the beginning of the privatization process too. The existing director of the circus, Sos Petrosyan has numerously said that some officials, who don’t want to discover their names, have promised him money.

However, the fact that those persons, who have promised money, don’t want to do it means that they are interested in driving the circus to bankruptcy. Furthermore, some people are interested in delaying the inspection. On the other hand, maybe those persons don’t believe the promises of Sos Petrosyan any more and understand that the problems of the circus cannot be solved, otherwise during these two years after the privatization they would do something to save the circus and prevent its bankruptcy.

Besides investments, the circus also had to keep the minimal wage of its employees at 50.000 dram and not to decrease its personnel. These two warranties have to be checked by the monitoring group too. By the way, the circus, which is considered to be art of “live breath”, does not have a live music group. It is hard to imagine how a magician can perform a good staging without live music. As for the director of the circus, he doesn’t think about creating good conditions for the employees of the circus (we can just remember him speaking slang and insulting the actors, which was shown on the air of Yerkir Media TV). Both the government and the society, when they see the growing problems of the circus and keep silence, are undermining this arts institution, which should bring smile and laugh to children and the new generations.
