Donations through Telethon-2007

The 10th annual telethon has received donations and promises of donations amounting at 15 million and 275 thousand USD. This consecutive telethon had more participants than the previous ones. In parallel with huge donations there were many small and medium donations too. The participation level of ordinary citizens was high in Armenia and Russia.

The youngest donator is Janik Simonyan, 12 years old, from Yerevan, who donated 10 dollar. The biggest donators of “Telethon-2007” are: Levon Hayrapetyan – $2,5 million, Vahe Karapetyan $1 million, “Project Cure” – $700.000, Luiz Simon-Manukyan – $500.000, Hrayr Hovnanyan – $500.000, Varaz Samvelyan – $500.000, George Baghumyan – $260.000, “Feed the Children” – $250.000, Armen Exerjyan – $200.000, Eduardo Ernekyan – $125.000, Armenian community of Switzerland – $150.000, AGBU – $150.000. “New York Life Insurance” and “AXA Insurance Company” insurance companies have donated $200.000 each. To note, the funds will be spent on community development projects, specifically in Tavush region of Yerevan and Martuni region of Artsakh. “Due to the village community development project we aim to fight poverty in villages of Armenia and Artsakh. We can pursue this goal only through uniting our potential and resources. We want the Armenians to be proud of their schools, education centers, hospitals, sports and culture institutions again, which are in poor conditions now. We want our people live better both morally and materially,” said the executive director of “Armenia” fund, Vahe Aghabekyan.
