“The National Unity” Party highly assesses Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s readiness to “serve as a tool to rid of the acting authorities,” the party leader Artashes Geghamyan told A1+. The party will likely utilize Ter-Petrosyan’s abilities to enlarge its arsenal. Presently, Geghamyan is concerned over another vital issue. “We condemn any attempt aimed at dividing the country into black and white. All these efforts are inadmissible for us and deem to failure.” The National Unity leader did not approve Ter-Petrosyan’s decision to appeal to European structures. “Forwarding letters to the General Secretary of the Council of Europe, Terry Davis, the OSCE and to the European Union shows one’s weakness and indecision as the above-mentioned structures found the May 12 parliamentary elections compliant with international standards and considered a step forward.” It is incoherent to invite a foreign referee to assess our deeds. As Garegin Srvandztyan would say, “Armenia’s problems should be solved in Armenia and not in Berlin, Brussels, Strasburg, Vienna or somewhere else,” Geghamyan said. Artashes Geghamyan does not share the idea that each person involved in the struggle will hold a post. And what about professionals, academicians, doctors, intelligentsia, engineers? What is to become of them? Geghamyan promised to share their stance on the recent events after a thorough analysis. He is more than convinced that a third pole should be formed as an alternative to the present and former authorities. It turns out that the comprehension of the only truthful idea of the country is being ignored. This means if the interests of the broad masses don’t match with the policies of the state then this movement will defiantly fail. He is sure that the only solution of the situation is the formation of a third political pole, which will become an alternative to the incumbent and former governments.
