No one pays taxes with pleasure

Yesterday PM Serzh Sargsyan answered to journalists’ questions concerning taxation services and especially collecting tax prepayments and said, “I have heard the rumors about collecting prepayments on the part of the taxation bodies and I have given instructions to verify everything. Neither of those facts has proven that the taxation bodies have collected prepayments,” said Serzh Sargsyan and highlighted that tax collection is a hard process and not all businessmen want to pay taxes with pleasure. “This issue is one of the main subjects of discussion during our daily conversations with the head of the Taxation services. He has been strictly instructed that the taxation bodies should not abuse their powers and squeeze businessmen, on the other hand they should collect taxes in a due manner so that we can solve social problems, give stipends to people and increase salaries,” said Serzh Sargsyan. He says that there are big shops in Yerevan, which have 300-400 mln circulation, but they pay 20-30 thousand dram tax. “It is natural that those people want to spread rumors and are not satisfied. I am petitioning them to pay money to the state budget instead of trying to solve their problems and paying state officials,” said the prime minister and noted that the TS head has been instructed to meet with any businessman who has such problems. “I am calling on everyone to apply to him, and if the problem is not solved, they can apply to me, however, taxes should be collected,” the prime minister said.
