Not that optimistic

06/11/2007

President Robert Kocharyan does not share the optimism of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs regarding signing a framework agreement on the Karabakh issue before the Armenian presidential election. Matthew Bryza, the U.S. co-chair had stated in Baku that the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan may sign a framework agreement before spring 2008. According to him, the talks have moved toward progress, and the process continues. “If we have a look at the issues under negotiation, we will feel the progress, meanwhile the impression from the militaristic statements and approaches of the Azerbaijani government is that these two have nothing in common,” Kocharyan said.
