Shevardnadze criticized

06/11/2007

Yesterday for the first time the former President of Georgia, Edward Shevardnadze criticized the incumbent President to Georgia, Mikhail Sahakashvili. He told the journalists that the “country is facing a political and economic crisis and the President lingers to undertake means to improve the situation.” “When people have many difficulties are starving and unemployed they end up going out on the street to protest,” said the former President and added that “the construction of new roads and water fountains is a good thing to do. But when people are in miserable conditions their mood will not be changed. According to Shevardnadze “Sahakashvili has almost got no time to fix his mistakes.” In the meantime Shevardnadze is against revolutions because he thinks that such turbulence inside the country doesn’t bring anything good. Let’s remember that the united opposition of Georgia on November 2 is going to old a rally with a slogan, “Georgia without President.”
