“No agreement will be signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia since the Armenians will include a provision on independence of Karabakh in the framework agreement, which is not acceptable by Azerbaijan,” said Azeri former state secretary Vafa Guluzadze to “Novosti Azerbaijan” when interpreting OSCE American co-chair Matthew Bryza’s statement, according to which there is possibility that “till the Armenian presidential elections, which will take place in spring of the coming year, the leaders of the Armenian and Azeri states may sign a framework agreement on settlement of Karabakh conflict”. “Azerbaijan, at its part, is ready to sign an agreement if the Armenians recognize the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan. However, Armenia announces that it will recognize Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity only in case if official Baku recognizes the independence of Nagorno Karabakh,” said the political scientist and expressed concerns that Bryza did not know about it. To note, Matthew Bryza announced that the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia may sign a framework agreement on settlement of Karabakh conflict till the coming spring. “There is possibility that till the presidential elections of Armenia, which will take place in spring of the coming year, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia may sign a framework agreement on settlement of Karabakh conflict,” said Bryza.
