Sculpture bust for Elvina Makaryan

30/10/2007

According to our information, singer Arminka, who is more known with her appearance and image of a modern girl than with her voice, has proposed a recommendation to the representatives of the Armenian show-business. She has proposed a signature collecting for the purpose of building a sculpture bust of Elvina Makaryan and installing it in Yerevan. According to our information, a number of singers have already signed under that proposal. To note, Elvina Makaryan, before her death, gave an exclusive interview to the reporter of “168 Hours” in the USA, Artak Alexanyan, in which she expressed her resentment concerning Armenian leaders and as well as the speeches and appearance of some artists with a “good nature”. She told that she had left Armenia being offended. Before suicide she bequeathed to make her body ash and give it out to the ocean.

It is not clear yet what the purpose of Arminka’s proposal is. However, many singers and artists are angry at this initiative. Furthermore, they say that as Arminka is a member of a famous religious organization and it is possible that she is doing it for other purposes. We don’t know yet whether Arminka has read the mentioned interview, where the singer addressed harsh critics at the bad and failures of the Armenian show-business. If our singers have really decided to commemorate the great Armenian singer Elvina Makaryan, the best present they may give will be their will and braveness to learn singing before singing publicly.
