“All efforts to dissolve the alliance between the Armenian Liberal-Democratic Party (HRAK) and the “Alliance” Party are doomed to failure because our unity is already reality,” Alliance leader Samvel Babayan told A1+. “This is not in the negotiation stage. All the issues are solved now. We are just waiting for the Congress to ultimately register the alignment,” he said. He didn’t exclude that prior to elections the unity between HRAK and the Alliance may not take place until the Presidential elections. To the question whether the HRAK or the DK will support Ter-Petrosyan at the presidential election, the DK leader said, “In 1997 we were at loggerheads with the Armenian National Movement (ANM) over the Karabakh conflict. Any collaboration is ruled out unless Levon Ter-Petrosyan presents his stance towards the Karabakh issue,” he concluded.
