Kocharyan – chairman of the Prosperous Armenia?

The Secretary of the Prosperous Armenia Parliamentarian faction Aram Safaryan, who has participated in the congress of the Russian “Yedinaya Rossia” party and has personally witnessed how Russia’s President Vladimir Putin stated about his intention to become Prime Minister of Russia after he leaves the President’s Office, doesn’t exclude that President Robert Kocharyan may head the Prosperous Armenia party and also incline to be appointed Prime Minister of Armenia after the completion of his presidency. “First of all, I cannot rule out anything in politics. I cannot rule out anything in the situation that has occurred in Armenia, when after two terms the president cannot be reelected. As to further placement of Mr. Kocharyan, it is something that he should decide. When he decides, it is always possible to find a solution. I think there are many people in the ranks of the Republican Party and the Prosperous Armenia Party who have friendly and reliable relations with the president, and if he wishes, it is possible to launch consultations, although no move has been made so far,” Aram Safaryan says. Let’s remember that two days ago Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan announced that President Kocharyan doesn’t have such an intention.
