Political goals or a post?

“One week ago we mostly with the 15 members of the NSDU Board celebrated the 20th anniversary of the self determination movement of the Armenian people,” yesterday mentioned the chair of the NSDU Paruyr Hayrikyan during the meeting with journalists. He mentioned that many people by trying to mar the actual independence of Armenia are trying to connect it with the Karabagh movement of 1988. However that movement was only one of the branches of the nation’s self-determination. Hayrikyan informed that on October 24 is the 20th anniversary of the “Independence” newspaper. He has also spoken about the coming presidential elections. The leader of the National Self-Determination Union Paruir Hairikyan who initiated the meetings of the leaders of political forces cafe is now trying to set up a union from the forces who still attend the meetings, however these meetings are not very productive right now. As for the first President’s return to politics, Hayrikyan said that behind Ter-Petrosyan’s return to politics we can see his striving for "seizing the post." By stating that he will support the common candidate, Ter-Petrosyan, in Hayrikyan’s opinion, acted non-professionally, as "the common opposition candidate cannot fall from the sky: we need help in order to find him, and the first President rather impeded than helped that business." In Hayrikyan’s opinion, it would be more correct if Ter-Petrosyan said that he uses his experience for finding such a common candidate. As Hayrikyan evaluated, Ter-Petrosyan’s emergence in the political field means that one oligarch is replaced by another. Mr. Hayrikyan has also offered a number of recommendations about democracy development and Karabagh conflict settlement, which the common candidate must admit.
