As it is known, the authorities have decided to punish Pargev Ohanyan, a judge of the first instance court of Kentron and Nork-Marash communities for making a decision to set the heads of “Royal Armenia” company free. A disciplinary proceeding has been instituted against him and tomorrow the justice council will hold its first session dedicated to this issue. Yesterday a group of lawyers organized a press-conference in the house of Lawyers, during which they made an announcement calling on everyone to do their best not to let the judge, who had made a fair and good decision, be punished. Meanwhile, the justice minister of Armenia, Gevorg Danielyan has given an interview to radio “Liberty”, where he said that no pressure had been made on Ohanyan and the fact of instituting a disciplinary proceeding against the judge was just a coincidence with his decision concerning the heads of “Royal Armenia”.
