On Saturday RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan paid a two-day visit to Syunik. On the first day he has participated in the inauguration of the water pipeline providing water for Goris and nearby villages. The water is going to reach 32 thousand 500 residents.

The water pipeline was built in the framework of the “Rural community development” program and 250 million AMD was spent. According to the RA Agriculture Minister Davit Lokyan similar programs are being implemented in Ararat, Armavir and Kotayk marzes. Shaki village has problems with irrigation water and reconstruction of the village center building, built in 1975. Those issues were raised when meeting RA Prime Minister. The village has 1350 residents; 63 apartments are gasified. Ishkhanasar village, which is mostly populated with refugees, doesn’t have a school. The classes in the village are held for 40 students of the village in the collective farming club, built in 1946. Sargsyan has visited Segh, Kornidzor and Khndzoresk villages of Syunik. Tegh village is also gasified now and the pipeline was built at the expense of the financing of the “Rural community development” program (40 million USD). Besides gasification potable water issue is also solved in Tegh village. “In near future such issues will be solved in all villages,” said Prime Minister Sargsyan. In Khndzoresk he has also been introduced to the construction activities of the road. The construction, for which 86 million AMD was spent, will be completed in November. During his stay in Goris Sargsyan has visited Getapnya neighborhood, where he was introduced to such urgent issues as roof building of buildings, which host over 600 families and asphalt covering. In Kapan he was introduced to roof building issues and street building. All these issues will be solved at the expense of the reserve fund of the RA government Budget, which is going to allot 825.7 million AMD for the implementation of those activities. The Prime Minister has also visited the construction square of the business center, which is being built for the Copper Molybdenum Factory of Zangezour. After visiting the opening of the newly built school in Vardanidzor and #1 school of Kajaran Sargsyan visited Meghri. He has been on the Armenian-Iranian border at Meghri customs. “”I go to marz visits not to get impressions but be introduced to activities,” he said. “”Despite the fact that Syunik is one of the most rapidly developing marzes of Armenia it also has certain social issues. We must see all those issues and try to solve them starting from roof building and finishing from water pipelines. Later certain decisions will be made for those communities to fix their problems.”
