Recently when speaking of his party venerable ARF member Hrant Margaryan has used the expression “positive opposition”, by saying that Dashnaktsutyun is a positive opposition. Regarding this statement yesterday former RA Deputy-Minister of Defense, member of ARF faction, Artur Aghabekyan said that the ARF will prove that the opposition is only “positive and constructive”. The journalists have also asked him if he’s going to join the signatures collection initiated by the Heritage faction, which is aimed at erasing the Article 301 from the Criminal Code of Armenia (defined as public petitions or initiatives to fail the constitutional order). Aghabekyan’s military comrade Zhirayr Sefilyan has been originally charged for such statements. “If I was a lawyer I’d examine the case and would even play the role of an attorney,” said Aghabekyan by adding that he’s not going to join the initiative of the Heritage faction because it is a “political initiative”. We can only guess what exactly Aghabekyan, who avoids political activity, is doing in the Parliament.
