American guitar player Al Di Meola is one of the most famous guitar players of the world and plays Fusion style music, which unites the Spanish Flamenco, Jazz and Brazilian melodies. Di Meola cooperated with Eric Clapton, Jimmy Moore and other musicians. When talking to journalists yesterday he mentioned that the solo concert is very special for him because it’s his first time and Armenia and expressed hope that he will come back again. “I have many Armenian friends. They have told me a lot about Armenia. I had a great wish to see this country with my own eyes. Although I have been only a day in Armenia I have great impression about the country. He mentioned that he had collaborated with several Armenian musicians and recorded a few pieces with Arto. “Thanks to Arto several Armenian music elements have entered into our music,” he mentioned. The guitar player has also spoken about duduk by saying that he’d like to use that instrument in his pieces. Meola will meet Jivan Gasparyan and also a short film will be shot about Meola in Armenia.
